I called the locksmith at 430 and the answering service that picked up took my name and number and address to come because I had locked myself out of my garage. It took and hour to get the locksmith to my house after he called and said 20 min. Apparently the answering service didn’t understand my address - but got my number and zip code right.
He arrived and said it would be 300 dollars to drill the lock and put a new one in. I said no. If all he was going to do was drill the lock I’d have done that myself. I expected a locksmith to have some skill and open the lock.
He starts trying to haggle with me and tries dropping the price to 150 dollars. Which infuriated me more so I sent him away. I gave him 20 bucks for gas and tolls and the fact the answering service screwed him by giving the wrong address but overall I had a horrible experience. 40 minutes on YouTube and I taught myself to pick the lock with basic tools.
